Suspension Service and Repair

Servicing the suspension on heavy haulage trailers is often overlooked compared to brakes or tyres, but it’s critical for safety, cost control, and compliance In reality, it is critical to safety and complience of vehicles:

  • Load Stability: Well-maintained suspension distributes load evenly across axles, reducing risk of rollover, swaying, or jack-knifing.

  • Braking Efficiency: Suspension affects how weight transfers during braking. Poor suspension can reduce braking performance and increase stopping distances.

  • Regulatory Compliance: In WA and nationally, trailers must meet ADRs and NHVR inspection standards. Suspension defects (e.g. cracked springs, leaking airbags) are common causes of defects and vehicle grounding.

Axle Replacement

Replacing axles on heavy haulage trailers is a high-risk, precision task that requires advanced technical skills, proper tooling, and compliance with regulatory standards. The level of expertise required is significantly higher than for routine trailer servicing.  With over 30 years experience, WA BOS has the team and the equipment to take on this major repair task with confidence. As a result, we can  ensure trailer meets Australian Design Rules and passes inspection against the National Heavy Vehicle Inspection Manual.
